Lenox Hill Hospital offers three types of rooms based on availability:

  • Semi-private: Most patients are accommodated in our semi-private rooms which contain beds for two patients.
  • Private: Patients stay in private rooms when it is medically appropriate or when an additional, out-of-pocket fee has been paid. A Patient Access Services representative will review any additional cost details with you before assigning the room to you.
  • Signature: Patients also have the option of paying out of pocket to stay on a luxury floor, for both maternity and surgical procedures.

Lenox Hill Hospital is pleased to offer complimentary television and telephone services to our patients. The Marquee Channel will appear with instructions on how to navigate the stations as well as instructions on the telephone operations.

Patients should use the call button to move from their bed and when they have needs in the hospital. Once the call button is pressed, a member of the nursing team will respond by coming to the room or by answering through the intercom at the nurses station. The bathroom in the room is for the patient only, and an emergency call chain is present if you need help. Patients may be transferred between rooms or floors because of medical needs, to accommodate another patient’s medical needs or upon personal request. Although the hospital cannot guarantee that a patient’s request will be met upon arrival, we do everything we can to arrange the request accommodations during a patient’s stay.

Cell phones and other wireless devices may be used by patients and visitors in patient rooms and in all areas of the hospital in conjunction with the facility's wireless device policy. You may use only battery-operated devices in your room.

Electrical appliances not permitted for room use include:

  • Electric razors
  • Hair dryers
  • Fans
  • Clocks
  • Radios
  • TVs, other than the one that is installed
